The 6 Step Velocity Experience
The Curran International Experience is rooted in Velocity™, a methodology designed to ensure the integrity of our 6 step company process and to ensure the quick, efficient, and confident experience for the client.
Step 1: Contact
- In this step, depending on the client and the contact request, we will provide our general information with the intent to inform and educate the client about Curran International and the process we follow.
- If the contact is a new client prospect, we conduct a relationship assessment to determine if we can effectively address the client’s needs.
Step 2: Contract Agreement
- A hallmark of our success is the relationship we form with our clients, one based on a completely informed client. Therefore, we review our terms, conditions, and guarantees with the client before engaging any search assignment.
- We agree on a contract with the client and secure a commitment for the search.
Step 3: Consultation
- This step begins with an orientation/site visit to collect information and gain the client’s perspective regarding the following:
- Organizational structure.
- Industry and market segments.
- Corporate culture.
- Business philosophy.
- Strategy and growth objectives.
- Key managers’ perspectives.
- Company products.
- The competitive landscape.
- Potential candidate targets at a specific competitor.
- We clearly define the roles everyone will play and clearly communicate them so that expectations are clear.
- We prepare an ideal candidate PD (Position Description), a blue-print to work from. We move ahead after the client approves our documented expectations and PD. The PD will include:
- Scope of responsibility.
- Reporting relationships.
- Client’s history, culture, market, products and philosophy.
- Candidate related qualifications, traits, values, performance standards, and interpersonal skills.
Step 4: Research
- With Velocity™, we access our established network of senior executive worldclass talent to obtain referrals on performance driven executives they have worked with in the past. We also will:
- Conduct market research to identify key sources, referrals, and competing companies.
- Review prospective companies with the client to eliminate any organizations with which confidential or sensitive relationships exist.
- Validate the proposed compensation plan by comparing it to major competitors’ plans.
- Research and cultivate potential candidate pool.
- Progress meeting
- 15-20 days after engagement, a progress meeting is held with the client.
- We typically will present 12-15 candidates
- We present market research and background summaries of candidates we believe represent the closest match to the PD defined
- We also discuss candidates in depth and assist the client in selecting the candidates for further review.
- Evaluation / recommendations
- Assess client-approved candidates and conduct personal interviews with the selected individuals.
- Confirm and further investigate candidates’ continued interest, qualifications, interpersonal skills, prior experience.
- Evaluate personality and cultural match of the candidate to specific tasks and the organization.
- Thoroughly brief the candidate on the location and profiles of the client’s management team.
- Finalist report
- Written findings and recommendations concerning selected candidates are presented to the client.
- Assist the client in the selection of the final candidates for personal interviews with the client’s management team.
Step 5: Placement
- Reference Investigation of finalist candidates.
- Comprehensive in-depth discussions with prior supervisors, peers, subordinates, customers, and other relevant professionals.
- Validate the candidate’s education, business credentials and professional conduct.
- Utilize valuable executive relationships that yield references that are more open and less guarded.
- Offer acceptance and negotiation.
- Facilitate the offer and assist in the negotiation of any sensitive areas.
- Present the final candidate with the client’s formal agreement and necessary legal documents.
Step 6: Guarantee
- Curran International offers an exclusive, industry-leading guarantee for the work we perform.
- After placement, we follow up with the client and candidate to make sure the expectations are being met for both parties.
- The search can be cancelled at any time. A full credit is applied toward the next search.
- If the placement fails for any reason within the first year of employment, we evaluate the cause and replace the candidate at no additional charge.
